The web is full of knowledge and experiences; sometime you stumble through sites that are remarkable in bringing learning to life on your screen, for me these are the ones I would mark as 3 must see and use experiences I have found in time:
Worldometers is part of the Real Time Statistics Project, which is managed by an international team of developers, researchers, and volunteers with the goal of making world statistics available in a thought-provoking and time relevant format to a wide audience around the world.
Sources are carefully selected to include only data published by the most reputable organizations and statistical offices in the world.
The counters that display the real-time numbers are based on Worldometers’ algorithm that processes the latest and most accurate statistical data available together with its estimated progression to compute the current millisecond number to be displayed on each counter based on the specific time set on each visitor’s computer clock
This site a very cool site built by Nikon Japan with a flash application about the concept of size (from the microworld to the universe, from a single perspective) that is pretty hard to describe; you’ve got to see it is really neat, even dough it is a couple of years old, it is remarkable to see it
Popurls is the dashboard for the latest web-buzz, a single page that encapsulates up-to-the-minute headlines from the most popular sites on the internet.
With the intention to get a quick glance on what’s happening on the web while keeping the common newsreader clean from short-term headlines, popurls was launched in march 2006 by thomas marban who is often mentioned for creating the original trend of “single page aggregators”. rather than a tool, popurls is considered as a gate to a highly selective collection of the most popular sites, presented in a usable way for every device & service.
I hope you enjoyed this short post, please tell us about other sites that are remarkable we aould love to see them too!
